Dr. Elizabeth Sine
Specialized Volunteer Support | Ph.D
Sine is the Humanities Advisor for the Braiding Water event series and initially joined R.A.C.E. Matters as a member of the Steering Committee in 2018.
She now supports the organization as a specialized volunteer who is instrumental in grant writing as well as “big picture” analysis and contextualization.
A Lecturer in History at Cal Poly SLO with a Ph.D. from UCSD, Sine’s scholarship combines the histories of comparative and relational race/ethnicity, labor, culture, and social movements in modern global California.
Her current research examines the making of the global surf industry between the late-1960s and 1980s.
